How do i change the ball joints on my 1990 Ford Bronco?

Not today has the right idea. A good way to put them back in is with a big C-clamp to press it back in (if you don't buy a ball joint press kit).

You will need a couple sockets one bigger for the bottom and one smaller for the top and a large clamp or hammer. use the smaller socket to %26quot;push%26quot; the ball joint out into the bigger socket underneath .

You will also need a 3rd size to %26quot;push%26quot; the new one in with.

The outside size of the socket has to be perfect or a little smaller to fit through the knuckle holes.

Buy the ball joints first, then take them to Sears and find out what size sockets will fit the top rim and the bottom rim of the ball joint and one bigger (to catch the ball joint comming out. It's got to be big enough to set the biggest diamiter of the ball joints base into compleatly.

The book will tell you you need a press, I have always beat them in/out with a mall or clamp and a little grease on the rim.

Not today zurg is right BUT!!! If you have to ask? It may be too much of a job for you. No offense, but this is something for a person with experience to do. IT IS SUSPENSION WORK! A screw up here could cause a wreck and maybe cost you and/or your loved ones lives! It is not a really difficult job but should be done by someone with experience or someone with experience to help you! Good luck!!!!
